Judy Kim is a New York based food stylist, recipe developer and recipe tester. While she concentrates in the food world, her styling work often incorporates a botanical element that ranges from edible flower garnishes to a full floral interiors installation. Her background in Florals and Fashion create and shape her unique approach to work. Embracing the wide range of opportunities that have been brought to her through her portfolio of clients, she has expanded her services as a creative consultant, art director and visual content strategist.
The early years shaped her current career. She learned the basics about florals while working at a flower shop in high school and apprenticed in college with a floral designer, learning about rustic composition and color in suburban Connecticut. Upon graduation she took a Design Assistant position at Ralph Lauren / Mens Sweater Design. While only for a brief time, knitted patterns made an impression on her current pastry techniques. She continued in the Luxury and Contemporary market leading Mens and Womens Design, Merchandising and Product Development departments for companies such as Calvin Klein, Elie Tahari, Burberry, Rebecca Taylor and again at Ralph Lauren years later.
Her work has appeared in Vogue, Real Simple, Brides, In Style, New York Magazine, Huffington Post, Forbes, Women's Health etc. She contributes recipes and styling work for Oprah Magazine and The James Beard Foundation. Previously wrote a weekly recipe column for Delish, Insanely Easy Weeknight Dinners and remains now as a contributor.
